So I'm almost done with my midterms and next week I'll be getting my shots for the summer from the travel doctor. Over the past month, I have learned a lot more about Rwanda and the issues that are still present there. I have also been learning about the current genocide in Darfur - and as much as I want to sit here and share everything that I have learned and everything that each of us can do, I unfortunately have to finish my annotated bibliography for French class tomorrow.
In the mean time, here is a video that I found particularly interesting/stunning. I should have reversed those words. Oh well.
Also - there is an amazing hot-line that you can call that will connect you with your representatives based on your zip code. They tell you exactly what you need to say to urge your reps to push the white house to take action in Darfur. The actions included in the current bill are not military, and don't involve any more troops - just blocking oil access through our ports. The number is 1 800 Genocide. It's ridiculously easy and literally takes 5 minutes.
